Thanks again to you all for 5 fantastic sessions.
It was a shame that some of you were not able to be there for the last one.
wishing you all the best as you continue on your NQF journey and hopefully I will see you all again soon.
Thanks everyone again for a great session.
Attachments and world cafe ideas are below.
I have put in a query as to whether we know if ACO's will assess out of or in their regions. Will let you know if I hear anything - I am thinking that as they are focussing on compliance as well it may be that they will work in their own regions...but we will see.
Regarding the issue of a nominated supervisor being away for 5 weeks overseas...I have looked in the National REGS and the law and the only reference I can find is the one we know about - that in the absence of a nominated supervisor - the certified supervisor being placed in day to day charge does that with a signature as per your usual procedures. Perhaps you could cover yourself more fully by typing up a letter explaining your 5 week absence and signing over to the certified supervisor, but also make it really clear that in your absence that person will ensure that the REGS are followed regarding maintaining the systems of a responsible person being on premises at all times. Look in REGS, Part 2.2 / Clasue 35, p.39. and in the law clauses 56, 117, 162.
Also below I have attached an action research PDF from the Department of Ed website that you might find interesting after our conversations. here are two websites that also have action research info:
I was so impressed with you all on Wednesday night. Great to hear the enthusiastic BUZZ as you all engaged so well in thinking pairs and world cafe. Welcome also to our new group members, Jo, Kelly and Joanne.
Attachments for the night are below, including the summary of your world cafe problem solving.

Also in regards to Frequently asked questions about the NQF have a look on the CCCCNSW website on the NQF and other changes yellow button. Here is the link. http://ccccnsw.org.au/resources/nqf
(I am seeking clarification about the question regarding the need for an approved provider to also have a certified supervisor certificate when they can qualify for it - if they are to be placed in day to day charge as a responsible person. STAY TUNED!)
Our next meetings are scheduled for:
March 21
May 2
May 16
June 6
I will confirm your request to continue meeting at the soldiers club ASAP.
Homework for this week:
Educators in your teams to read the Fact sheets.
Ensure the practices and principles of the EYLF are clearly represented in your centre philosophy.
*Look at quality areas and start thinking about how you can work through these with your teams to develop strengths and goals for attention. Have a look at the Gerringong story and scrapbook idea that I will post and e-mail to you.
