I also included these in the new Committee member folders.<br \/>\nWe looked at QA1 listed our strengths, and reflected using the Questions to Guide Reflection in the Guide to the NQS. I wrote these up on butcher's paper and provided a summary attached to the staff meeting minutes. These were added to the QIP and that section of the plan included in the handout. <br \/>\nEach of the 4 teams then selected a folded piece of paper on which another QS written. Their homework is to use the Questions to Guide Reflection to assess the centre as a team to present to the next meeting. We'll look at 2 QAs per meeting. I can confirm that, just as with our group, there is a range of perceptions here, but I am confident that as we continue to discuss and include the language of these initiatives in our meetings and documentation everyone will grow in understanding.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nHow relevant all this is to our daily practice will determine to what extent we embrace the principles, and at what rate we develop familiarity with the process of quality improvement. I found it useful to open up the Quality Improvement Plan Template and and read it in conjunction with the Guide to Developing a Quality Improvement Plan (Section 4. of the NQF Resource Kit). I have saved the template onto my desktop and add<br \/>\n&quot;strengths&quot; as I see them. I use these to start discussions with staff (always good to start with the positives).<br \/>\n<br \/>\nWith such a large, experienced staff I am able to ask staff in each of the 4 classrooms to consider a Quality Standard next term - to list the strengths and suggest any improvements.
